:csflag: OH BABY... NAILED ANOTHER ONE~>>>

Last weekend while relic hunting with Greg Heath (Mountain Man) he had noticed one of his favorite old time hunting spots had just been cut. He contacted the land owner and was given permission for him and I to detect the field today. I met up with Greg 8:00 this morning, we transferred detecting supplies into my truck and after a 15 min. drive we were swinging over a dew covered hay field. I circled to the left heading towards a creek; my first 2 targets were old can lids, then a piece of big iron. The 4th target 10 min. into the hunt I unearthed this sweet Confederate staff officer's button (my second one!). I walked over and showed Greg and we did the high 5's. We ended up with a couple more bullets.

The Confederate staff is a solid button; it appears that the shank had been braised on and had broken off. It has a heavy patina and I don't know that I'll do anymore than I've already done to it, which is scrub it thoroughly with a stiff toothbrush. There's no markings on the back that I can distinguish. Last pictures are Mountain Man zeroing in on a target. Thanks, Greg, for taking me to your spot... Oh, The brownies are on me boys!
