[size=large]When it was new in 1840. The top one is a reproduction from Hanover Brass, a company that makes Civil War plates and buckles. Compare it to the real one I found that can only get that kind of patina and character from being in the ground for a 150 years and being cut in half with a plow :lol: [/size][attachment 93957 newplate.jpg]
