OK, got a signal here that I think is a button. The point of the digger is down 10" in the ground, and the "button" is about a half inch below that according to my pinpointer. May I have a drum roll please...

Nope, not a button, just the mother of all brass rivets. Oh well, you win some and you lose some.

Then I got the mother of all buttons, a slightly convex flat button the size of a 50 cent piece. I was hoping there was a colonial eagle with G.W.'s name on it, but it had a plain front.

Got another good button signal, cut a 6" plug and it was still in the hole. One more shovel load of dirt and I saw green brass roll out when it hit the ground. Yankee eagle button... I'll take it. It's in good shape.

So many fields, so little time. Picture hundreds and hundreds of white tents here.

Dig'um ups. Miniball and a pistol bullet, a cut coin with three stars on the side (I think it was a large cent). The little ornate square thing, I think it was a watch winder; there is a small hole in one end, just the right size to wind an old watch. Pat of a Spencer case, flat buttons and other whatnots.
