:csflag: Dirty Dancing?... :surprised:

Made arrangements to meet up with Mountain Man this evening for about a 2 hour hunt at the new site. When we got there, Greg got out of the truck, walked about 30 feet, and got into a nest of bullets. I walked over to see what all the digging was about. In the photo, you can see the holes that Greg is digging to retrieve the Spencer bullets. He'd already gotten about 10 out of these holes, and there was many more to come from that small spot.

I wandered on up to the top of a hill. All the cows were right where I wanted to detect, but it wasn't the cows I was worried about, it was the big bull. I could hear him bellowing in the lower pasture, so I wasn't too worried about him.

Shortly, I found my own nest of bullets. I dug over 30 bullets, 11 of them complete Spencers. They are very fragile, I had two crumble in my fingers when I went to pick them up. Here's one I'm dusting off with a powder puff, trying to get it out of the encased dirt without breaking it. While I was working on it, I subconsciously heard that bull bellowing again, thought to myself "Hmmmm, sounds like he's getting closer." He bellowed a third time, which brought me to my senses, and I realized it wasn't the bull at all, it was Mountain Man.

I looked up, as he came hoopin' and hollerin' up over the hill. I swear that 250 pound man looked as agile as the scarecrow on the Wizard of Oz. He was really busting some moves. Well, all relic hunters know what this means... he done found a good'un.

Yessir, it was better than a good one. As Jim would say, its a "Killer". A Confederate manuscript "I" (Infantry) in perfect shape.... WHOA DUDE. We did the high fives and the gawking and oogling over this rare British made Confederate button. Nice digging Mountain Man!
