CSC vs 10" Elliptical?

Surf D'tec

New member
Hello to all. I am writing my first post to this forum,
and have a question for anyone who has experience with
the larger 10" elliptical.

I have done weeks of research over the 'net,
and just (yesterday) ordered a new Sand Shark,
and I know I can hardly wait for it to get here!

It was very hard to keep myself from ordering
the CSC at the same time, but I finally decided
that I'll want to get used to the detector first,
before adding on. (Actually, 1 toy at a time is
the "rule" that keeps me from sleeping on the couch
for weeks at a stretch!)

Anyway, I would like to ask if anyone has experience
with the 10" elliptical, or with both the 10" and the CSC,
and could you share your opinion - Depth, pinpointing, etc.,
etc. - any observation will be much appreciated!

I think after my Sand Shark gets here, I'll have three weeks
or so to wait for the "1 toy" rule to pass - and I know I'm
already leaning towards the CSC, but is the 10" Widescan
a better possibility? Anybody? Thanks, and I hope to be
posting great "treasure" finds soon!!

I am not a beach guy, but I would suspect the two coils to be similar in performance, since they are both PI coils. Perhaps the Elliptical coil would give a little more depth, but the 18 inch sweep of the cleansweep would be hard to beat! I'm sure that more informed posters will be able to guide to better. Best of luck with what ever you end up with!

The 10" will most definately be deeper, but the CSC will give you more surface ground coverage. Both have their place.

Been wondering that same thing. I use an older PIranha here in central Florida with a 7" coil on it. Very sensitive to small items. But it sure would be nice to have that big 18" coil to cover some ground but i don't want to give up any depth or sensitivity.
