CS6PI an Ground Balance How Simply

ocean

New member
Hi Everybody,I may have in my hands soon an Older Eric Foster original design CS6PI machine to fix up an Modify for use here in Australia conditions.
I understand this is a low power pulse design ,an I wish to use for small gold location only.
Ive read an saved all the older design modification tips from here an other forums on improve its performance.inc a Fast coil design which I already have had Professionally made an Housed.to go when it arrives.some modification to damping resistors required.to suit.
Now Ground balance??
Ok the australian environment is harsh for mineralisation an hot rock.
I hear time an again some ground balance feature is required regardless of the machine being PI.
Im told use Goldscan,.. 2 channel design for Iron an gold,But this is a CS6Pi single channel an the circuit would not appear to lend itself for future redesign simply of this Goldscan addition,True or False??
What can be done simply circuit wise to incorperate a basic operational ground balance circuit with a low part count an use original pcb.
Ive heard from hearsay this has been done??
where an by whom?
Ive shown the schematics to several circuit designers for electronics.of the circuit schematics CS6PI an Goldscan an they give me a dark look an laugh,an say is not achievable ,but a complete redsign an New Full PCB will have to be created?end of story??maybe!
True or false? am I wasting my Time Here on the Dream of Impossible?
I like this design as its reputed to be reliable ,simply powered off AA battery pack an suited to small gold detection with a minimal of components replacements to optimise.an reasonable well documented use history an credit, else past modification would never have been sought an achieved before?
I seriously hope somebody past knowledge-able will respond an answer,an not just leave this as another dead thread to be looked at an ignored?
Thank you very much! ocean

The CS6 PI is based on the Foster Beachscan PI, and nothing from the Goldscan with work on it.

There are no add on ground balance circuits that I am aware of.. Your best bet would be to get a hold of a Goldquest DD coil, or a Minelab SD series DD coil, and wire it in. With slow, careful, deliberate sweeping of the coil over the bad ground you may be surprised just how well it will do.

Mr. Bill

Thank You Mr.Bill, valuable Consise information,an not all the guff like other forums.
As you suggest I will shelve the custom mono coil,an source a DD an modify the cabling to suit,I expect some tuning refinement to the ascociated dampening resitors an such will be necessary to match ,an will give it a go an persist. without a ground balance as such.
Much appreciate! ocean
