Bad falsing... sent it back. Great service department.

It's going to be repaired at home, by a reputable company that really looks after it's customers and keeps a Texan(s) employed at the same time. :) It will be back soon.....better then ever.

Ive heard some rumblings about Garretts service department from a few folks, mostly in other countries.
They never did suggest they got better treatment from other detector makers, however, and were possibly prone to gripe regardless.

My personal experience with Garretts service has been exemplary. Each time I've had to deal with them, there was no trouble and they took care of me.
Last year I got a Grand Master Hunter III off ebay that didnt work. I paid about $60 USD for it. AS advertised, it was out of commission.
So I sent it to Garrett - out of warranty.
They replaced the mother board, the battery holder, the ribbon connector AND the display screen, essentially building me an entirely new detector.
The cost? $91 USD. That's right, a mere $91 dollars.

Remember, this was out of warranty by 15 years and I was not the original purchaser. They had no skin in this, except their reputation.
But $91?? That was so reasonable, I hadda ask twice to make sure the price I was given was correct. And it included return shipping as I recall.

There will always be someone to complain and fuss over THEIR bad experiences, on any subject.
But when it comes to Garrett - it wont be me.

I'm not too worried. The At Pro has provided me a great time. Memorial Day weekend I went camping in La Connor, WA at the Thousand Trails RV park. I've been there many times and hunted with my other brand X detector. I hunted some areas I KNOW I had been before and found more deep coins that had been missed. This isn't BS... I hunted in a small confined area with very obvious boarders.

I think the falsing may have been due to the coil cable -- not the control box. When I called Garrett they were "Johnny on the spot." :clapping: I do miss my leisure-time buddy!

Ive had the same "finding more" experience with Garrett detectors. It's what turned me on to them in the first place.
