I dont have the hours on end it seems some of you do, so I take hunts on the fly and when I can. Today I snagged an hour or so at a local school.
It was built in 1941, originally, and has been layered with new upgrades over the years. Before it was a school there were several houses along this stretch of road. I have found 50's coins there, and IH's and early wheats just across the road. So there is always some chance of a goodie or two.
I was greeted by the janitor when I arrived and I figured, "Uh oh, here we go with the Gestapo crap.."
I have had several petty level types confront me about detecting lately. I'm talking gardners and janitors and so on.
Everybody wants to keep a constant watch on everything, these days, and these guys are no exception. This is the result of a generally hightened sense of security. It never used to happen and I'm awaiting the day when I am turned away or the cops are called at my mere presence. Things just aint what they used to be...
But today wasn't that day. This guy was one of the easygoing folks we all love. He just waved, we exchanged some pleasant words and he went on his way. I went to detecting.
I didnt find any earth shattering items, as expected. I dont get too excited about schoolyards, as the recovered objects in these oics are just the sort of thing you find in them. Occasionally, there turns up a stunner, but not all that often. Nevertheless, it beats sitting on the couch or doing yardwork.
Anyway, here are the usual "suspects":

And of course we must see the gleanings, right?

The little ring is a junker, as is the dolphin charm. The coins simply add to the yearly total.
Like I said, it beats daytime soaps.
