Crosstalk (Interference)

Question for anyone that uses the MXT & Garrett Pro pointer.---Do you get "crosstalk" between the two when the Pro pointer is in use?---The MXT being around 14 kHz & the Pro pointer being 12 kHz.-------Thanks, Del

Mine will only bother each other if they are less than a couple feet while I am using the pin pointer . I just lay my detector to the side while digging the hole and I don't have a problem I also remove my headset while digging and pinpointing a target so as long as I keep them separated while the pin pointer is on there is not a problem but yes if they are close together with both on they will talk to each other that is a normal thing just like having two detectors close together.

A common problem with handhelds Del and not just MXT's. Gotta love those SunRay probes.............:clapping:

I was getting some with mine Del. I posted awhile back here about that very situation. I've gotten into the habit of turning off my MXT and usually removing my HP's (or not) when I decide to dig so it's no longer an issue AND my batteries on the MXT are still reading 12 to 13 when I turn it on and I've used it on quite a few hunts. It may take a bit longer but I like to go somewhat slow and methodical. You can easily get away with leaving it on and setting it a ways away as Harold said but I like to get set up and comfortable and be able to hear the Garrett PP chirp and zero in on the target that way if it's not real shallow. Great pin pointer and battery saver !

I get different responses with different coils and with the M6 Vs. my MXT. Not sure what to do except for keeping them separated. I hate turning off the machine and wondering if it's still tuned properly later.

I do recheck the GB occasionally when I'm turning the machine off and on repeatedly. Only takes a second. As far as my gain, once I determine, my setting initially, I can just turn it back to that setting and I'm usually good.
