CrossFire 5 Pin Coil Question.

I own the Groundhog and the M.Hers which are 4 pin...Picked up 2 CrossFire coils minus detector which are 5 pin...how would I tell which models they will work with.

The Crossfire coils were for the 7 khz Garretts -- Freedom CDC and Plus series, GTA's, Treasure Ace's, Grand Master Hunters, CX models and other 7 khz models from the late 1980's through the CX Plus in 2005 or 2006. The only difference between the original Crossfire coils and the Crossfire II's were they had different connectors. The original Crossfire's had the same connector as the late Master Hunter ADS and Freedom Coin Commander series, but wouldn't work on them because of the difference in the transmit frequencies.

I have a Master Hunter 5 that I bought in 1988 that came with Crossfire coils, the 8 1/2" standard and optional 4 1/2" and 12" coils. Garrett advertised this MH 5 as operating at 6 khz.

In addition to the MH 5's that were sold in 1988 the MH 7x and 10x also used the Crossfire coils. I knew the 7X and 10X used Crossfire coils, but I wasn't aware a MH 5 was made that used the Crossfire coils until a few months ago when someone, maybe you, posted about having one on the Vintage Detector forum. Thanks for the clarification.
