cross talking?

I know this is probably a question for Whites... What causes 2 metal detectors to cross talk. Is it the frequency? Is there any way to stop it? My wife and I enjoy MDing together but anytime we're within approx 50 ' of each other my MXT Pro starts acting strange. Her MXT 300 doesn't seem to be as effected by it. This is a bummer as we like to be next to each other when we check out the beaches. Thank you....HH Jack and Judith from NH

Detectors of the same frequency usually cross talk if fairly close together. My MXT and a Friend's M6 cross talk the worst I've seen to date. We have to be 40 or 50 feet from each other to hunt in the same area. Whites may have a remedy, but it's a common problem.

It's definitely a issue caused by the same frequency. Some detectors have a switch to change to a slightly different frequency. Changing the frequency by about 500 to 1000 Hz is probably the only fix. Hope this helps.

[size=large]someone else posted about the same problem it was between a m-6 and mxt. the suggested cure was to send the mxy to whites where they can re-tune to a slightly differant freq. apparently this won't affect the operation and is suppose to allow the same freq. machines to work closer. you'd be able to use all the same coils as before. was posted on this forum with-in the last month i think.
