Crease on E-trac Screen

I'm looking for some advice on how to remove a small "L" shaped crease or indentation (approximately 1/2" long on each leg) from the e-trac's screen. It doesn't seem to effect the operation of the detector, but it does detract from it's appearance. Is this something that can be fixed or is it something I'll have to live with?

n/t

I just recently bought the detector used, but I'm convinced it happened during shipping. I think a corner of the nimh battery pack was pressing against the screen.

Bummer. No fix I know of other than replacement. As I understand, the touchpads are wired to that plastic, it's not a simple fix. It's annoying too as the crease will cast a shadow on the LCD below and will be distracting. I damaged an X70 screen overlay and Minelab fixed it free under warranty (I had to pay shipping), but I was the original purchaser. Sadly, I think you're going to have to live with it. I might ask the seller for a price adjustment.

You could always get with the orginal owner and have them send it in for you. That does suck..

Try letting it set in the sun for an hour or so & see if it straightens itself out some.. wildherre

I've read where applying some heat might remove the crease, so I'll give the sun a try. I read using an iron with damp cloth or hairdryer may do the trick also, but I'm a little nervous about trying those remedies.
