My 4 year old Grandson, thought for some reason he could swallow a quarter, after the panic, and the E.M.T.'s checked him out. They were sure he swallowed the Quarter and told my Daughter in law to check and see if he passed it in a few days. If not take him to the doctors for him to check him over. We were out of town, but when my son called to tell us what happened I told him to get one of my other Metal detectors from my garage and scan him to see where it was. My son checked and located it still in his throat, even with his shoulders. They took him in for Ex-rays, and the doctor sent them to All Children's Hospital in St. Pete. Fl. for a procedure to remove it. He was lucky it didn't turn flat in his throat and choke him. Here are a few pictures.
Picture of the Ex-Ray, excuse the back lighting just held it up to window.

Just an ordinary Quarter to me and you , but special to him as a reminder NOT to swallow coins.

After the procedure with Gator aid and Popsicles. He is just fine now.

You just never know what kids will do.
