Does Whites keep a list of reported stolen detectors? Can you call them to check the serial # before you buy from someone on craigslist? Thanks

I always ask for the serial number from the seller and then call the factory to get the build date and any info about repairs. The seller may not know where it is located so make sure you tell them where to look when asking for the SN#

I don't think it matters where you are wanting to purchase the detector from, just ask for the serial number and give White's a call, they should be able to give you the history of it. Jeff

Always a good idea to keep a ser# of your unit(s)......wonder how many do......Whites could surely tell you if a unit is still under warranty......being a retired Pa. Statepoliceman I do know they can check a ser# of units stolen if the person that lost it provided a ser#...
