COWABUNGA

Patty and I managed to squeeze a few hours in this weekend in between family get togethers.

Friday Patty got what looks like a small promise or engagement ring. Diamond test real, but tiny (inside of the ring only say 585 PAN).

Sunday,I dug up the larger silver band, 2 cars and eyeballed a ninja turtle plus $4.60 in change.

W.T.G. Digger team, was Patty in the water? Been watching the surf cam, tons of people in the water now. I may get down that way later in the week. Good tides after Tues. especially in the evening. Much cooler at night. I'm guessing Patty likes the Excal. now that she has had some time with it. HH hope to see you guys soon.

Hey Joe, Dry sand on both. Water has been to rough lately. We should be out next week for those tides too.

When i saw the pic my first thought was platinum and nickle. I know plat is stamp like silver ie 985, So I googled it and came up with this info, a quote from a diamond education website. Your ring may be more valuable than you thought.. Congrats ! "Large metal manufacturers are taking pure platinum and cutting it with copper and cobalt! The product is being sold as 585 platinum. The 585 stands for 58

Get Outta Here, is NOTHING Sacred! 14k Platinum, What will they think of next? All praise the all mighty profit. Now we have one more tone to listen for.

I guess you can't stop progress even if it is a step backwards. The fact that Platinum is pure or almost pure is part of the attraction in my mind. It doesn't sound like we're going to be seeing a lot more platinum on the beaches, just a lower grade. Platinum jewellery won't be coming down in price by the sounds of it, just the quality will be reduced. Profit is doubling so no savings there. I'd much rather find a 24k ring than a 14k ring.

Cheers,

BDA:cool:
