Cover for PROformance Imaging Coil

Just received my new coil and it just dawned on me that I didn't order a cover. How many people use a cover?

The coil that I'm replacing always had a cover but I bought it that way so I'm not sure how well the new coils hold up.

I used my first detector for 20 years without a coil cover and the coil didn't seem any worse for wear.

I just got my cover in the mail today. It does'nt affect the coil's performance and hopefully will prolong it's life. My coil was already getting a little scratched-up..I'm very happy I have a cover now...'cause they 'aint cheap !!

I never use one. You don't need one unles you use your coil for a hammer. The PROformance coil is poured epoxy and built like a tank and you shouldn't need a cover, plus you have to keep them cleaned out or your tector will false.

... I use spray on truck bed liner. You buy it at WalMart for $7 a can. I spray the bottom and sides, masking off the top. Once the stuff cures, after 2-3 days, it is tough and takes a beating. If it does get nicked or chipped, you just spray on some more around the ding.
