Couple sweet buffalo's curb hunting.

Went out to an old part of Napa Idaho today and did a lil curb huntin. Got a couple buffalo's! Nabbed a 1929 S in superb condition and a 1936 D that's pretty dirty and oxidized. man oh man. Was only out for an hour and hunted ONE grass curb island 20'x5' using my 6" HF DD. Anyone know how I can clean this thing without screwin it up? Or is it a lost cause?

Thanks,
Brandon (busspass)

couple ways that has been posted here for NON KEY DATE coins, common date DUG buffalos have very little value, so cleaning them to make them presentable is a good idea if you want them to look decent

1. you can tumble them, I have experimented with this methoid on v-nickels and I was happy with results, I tumbled with smooth gravel with water, a lil soap, tried 30 minutes, was not enough so I did 30 more min for an hour total

2. soak them in lime a way is another method this will remove the red color, soak for 1/2 hour, rinse, and rub with baking soda, if not enuff red is gone, repeat process

I think the tumble method is actually easiest and they look pretty decent

if you get a key date DO NOT CLEAN, except for rinsing dirt off

cool! thanks for the input! what are the "Key Dates"? If I keep finding them at this rate I'll have at least one before winter. I'm usually a prospector but hey..... I think I like this coin thing too!

Congrats on the very nice finds! Man the 1st Buff is in awesome shape. I will be honest I normally do not clean mine more than soap and e=water with a soft toothbrush. I will have to try the tumble method, Beale.
