On my way to a job this morning I went past the sports complex that I found the 14k ring last week with the X30. I make it a habit to drive by these places just to look for work that may being done on them by the city parks and recreation department. Besides that, I have the 705 back and have been itching to get out and put it to use along with my favorite coil.
I was excited to see dump trucks, front end loaders and workers tearing up the soccer fields. Made the easy decision to end work before noon, go home and get the 705, and get there at lunch time when the workers take a break.
When I got there a pile of scraped up dirt was in the parking lot and the area around the goals was shaved down around 4 inches. All the workers were either in the trucks or laying around in the sun, it was a cool day in the low 60s.....not trying to rub it in.:| I asked the supervisor if I could MD the scraped out area and got the ok promising to move on when they were done with lunch.
Started hitting coins right from the get go along with other items.... mostly I found coins, but the small junk ring, tire weight, heart earring and small snap came from the scraped areas. When the guys finished lunch I moved to the pile of dirt and found more coin, watch face, and wrap clasp.
Not wanting to stop, I asked the supervisor if they were going to do the other soccer field and got the ok to MD it. Hunted around the goals finding some coin then started doing the fields and side lines. Found the Titanium China ring & 38 shell on the field, and the air needle, Magyar Koztarsasag 1994 20 Forint coin
and Darth Vader head on the sidelines..... deja vu finds from last week, same complex; air needle, shell, clasp and ring.
Not a bad time and plan on going by tomorrow and Friday to see if they started doing the other goal area. GL ALL
