Couple of quick questions re: F75

Well, picked up my F75 from JeffSC (loftisdetectors.com) yesterday. Having never used an ID machine, I was thinking I was going to be a bit intimated by it, but after going through the manual, playing with the screens, and taking a quick run through the yard, it seems like it's going to be fine...

My couple of questions:

In all metal mode, does fastgrab GB work, or do you have to manually GB?

When using FastGrab, how long does it take to GB? Otherwords, how many times should I pump it up and down.

Finally, wondering if this is normal and others of you have this...when the machine is on and the backlight is lit, I can see a shadow of a black line down the middle of the screen. It's not bad, or distracting really...and was wondering if maybe it's just the shadow of some kind of support behind the screen. I can take a picture, but not sure it would show up. I definately don't want to send a brand new machine out of the box back to the Co.

I'm sure I'll have more questions as I start using it more.

Oh yeah, I found 6 cents in the yard.

Hi Greg, The Fastgrab works in both modes, disc and all metal. I usually "pump" the coil until I get a steady (it quits changing) GB number. Usually 3 or 4 pumps? It "seems" to fastgrab GB as close to neutral as possible, but defaulting to the positive side a number or two if not dead on... (in my good ol' North Carolina dirt)

I'll have to check on the backlight thing. I don't recall a line, but it's been a while since I used it in the dark.

OK, now I've gone & dun it! I just ordered the same HDD video camera as you to "Save some History".
I will now take my multi-picture posts to a whole new level hopefully:twodetecting:
Now I just gutta come up with a fancy name for my series.....
Somethin' like...."Saving History New England?"

...I should franchise the "Saving History" name...

Ahhhhhh...Executive Producer...hehe

could put it on the History Channel and have a mini show  May become a good time at the hunts to go down to the Gas station to use the bathroom

maybe "heavy metal relic hunting" with some loud guitars as the background music:yo::super:

the dude that does (did) girls gone wild thought he was "saving history" too and it didn't work out too well after a spell. :D ;)

This is pretty much how mine looks in person. Very slightly mottled overall and the nearest thing to a line or shadow is in line with the battery guage. -- Bob <br>

I dug this one back in 2005. It's the original wardrobe malfunction. My diggin buddy called home and had his 10 year old look it up in the Red Book. Needless to say, his MOM ended up on the phone with his Dad!

I watched scdiggers video of those fellers at that hunt. Are we REALLY SURE we want to see them "go wild" in the way they "go wild" in those other videos? Hmmmmm? I didn't think so! :)
