Couple of Questions

Hi everyone. My Beach Hunter ID control box was full of water this morning when I hit the beach, so I've decided to buy a new Excaliber 2. Suggestions on the best place? I was going to go with Kelly Co. Also, is it easier now to get these repaired, or do you still have to send them to Australia? Des Curran in Buffalo, NY

Check with Detector Depot. If you ever have to send it in and you live in the U.S. Minelab Downers Grove, Chicago, ILL. Sorry about your machine. :minelab:

Pretty much any vendor has same policy. From date of purchase, they will only take it back within 14 days. If you get a lemon, any good vendor will swop it out asap. Most lemon problems from excal II have been worked out. Not much to worry.

I got mine from kellyco. I tried switching around their free stuff package to no avail. Its value is 350 bucks, I tried just getting one free battery which is valued at 149. No dice. But the free stuff was cool.

Choice is yours. I love the machine. I am going tomorrow. Deep and good on thin rings. I know this because the first day I used it I hit a worked pond and found a thin 1.7 gram ring that was without a doubt left by an inferior machine.

As far as service goes the above poster already answered it. Insurance, I got renters insurance which covers theft. And squaretrade offers accidental damage...however there is no telling if you would have to wait 6 months for them to pay out. A renters/home owners policy would pay out quick should you have a theft.

HH and enjoy your new machine!!! -Joe

Shop around!!! All I will say is the price that is listed online and the price you can get a machine for it usually a big difference!!! I'm talking hundreds of dollars!!! Haggle with them...you will be really suprised!! I'm not talking of any dealer specifically...just in general.

This is the dealer for you here mate!

Joe is a sponsor here, is VERY knowledgeable and will offer you UNSURPASSED service AFTER the sale. Any bozo can sell you a unit, BUT dealer support/technical support when you have an issue is KEY to keeping you in the water hunting. Joe is the best I've seen and has gone WAY above and beyond for me.

Call all the forum sponsers before you buy. They have to advertise the same but they sure don't sell the same. Good Luck! HH :minelab:

Awesome guys, I really appreciate it. I'll be on the forum alot now with alot of probably annoying already answered questions. I'll be ordering Monday. Only used DFX and Beach Hunter for the past 10 years or so so I'm sure there will be a big learning curve. Des in Buffalo
