Couple of Pics

Ken (Australia)

New member
Have attached a couple of pics of my digging/detecting mate Geoff in a farm dump we started on this morning. Heaps of bottles, unfortunately it was 1930's - 40's vintage and not much worth taking home. The nearby homestead is a huge two storey brick dwelling from the 1880's - 90's. Still a fair bit of dump left so we might strike the older stuff yet. We then went across the road to an inn site that traded from 1840 to 1874. The land owner has recently planted a crop over the site and the ground is fairly rough but I managed an 1872 penny and Geoff an 1817 shilling and a cricket buckle so we enjoyed the day..................HH..............Ken.

The 1800's bottle dump is beneath the new one or may be in a different spot.

I hope you find it.

Don't forget to detect around the brick building. There could be caches of gold coins there. I expect to see pics if you find one.

Good luck!

they look great! Makes me feel like I'm there! Looks like you and Geoff are having a ball of a time Ken. A lot of bottles seem to be coming up too, and some of the later ones could be worth something considerable. I wonder if you'll find some of the older coke bottles, the green hour glass shaped ones. The last I saw them in an antique shop, they were wanting abour $25.00 each for them. I really enjoyed the photos Ken. Thanks.
Angela:)
