Couple of Days' Finds

Here are some finds from a couple of days in city parks, with the Garrett GTI2500 and Teknetics Omega 8000.

In one photo ... we've got a knob with a cowboy on a horse, an Irish flag, a Louisiana memorial quarter with a paper sticker on it, an ornate ladies' whistle, an earring, a religious medal with St Anthony on one side and St Christopher on the other side, and an NRA medal.

In the other photo ... a ladies' pendant, a Timex watch, three Wheat Cents, a .32 bullet, a frog ring, a San Francisco Golden Gate token, a button, and parts of a ladies' bracelet.

The three Wheat Cents are 1918, 1949, and 1954.

The frog ring shows .925 silver. Its back and feet have clear gemstones mounted, and its eyes are two red gemstones. It has gotten crushed, probably by a lawnmower.

The Timex watch face shows a day and time. It stopped at 3:26 on Monday the 20th of the month.

Any time there's a fired bullet slug in a public park, I wonder why it got there.

Pretty decent finds for a couple of days.

Cheers,

Joe

Interesting finds. I've never seen a whistle like that.

It was a surprise find, all right.

It was in a residential neighborhood, about four inches down in the ground where a concrete sidewalk has been torn up.

When it came out, it was full of dirt -- but a washing with tap water got it cleaned up.

At one end it once had a small loop for a string or ribbon, now broken off. Maybe a lady might have worn it around her neck.

When blown into, it gives a high pitched whistle sound ... very loud.

For safety? Calling the kids in for supper? Calling the family dog?

Who knows?

Cheers,

Joe
