couple of Cortes coil questions?

1. What (if any) coils will fit a Cortes (built late 2007) besides the 9 x 8 original? I have looked at Tesoro's website and brochures but never seen any listed for the Cortes.
2. Does the cord stay with the coil as a unit or do they separate?
 
All the umax coils will fit and work on the Cortes. The cord stays with the coil. I'd suggest you consider the 5.75" coil for trashy areas and if you can add a 7" it will work pretty well in trash too and cover a bit more area.

I have a compadre also, with what I think is a standard 5.5" or 5.75"? and was comparing the two but the plug is totally different. Anyway, visually comparing is as far as I went with that swap possibility. Thanks for the response BB.
 
If it's a more recent Compadre it will have the 5.75 coil. On the Compadre, the coil is hardwired to the control box.
