Couple odd questions

First one. Was the Eldorado a 5 pin machine? I'm tracking an old one down and want to ensure a new machine and it will be able to swap coils. I'm thinking Outlaw and/ or the Golden
Which leads to my second question. When setting the notch on the golden I read to use a nickel. Now what does that mean exactly? I assume it is USA nickels but being in canada I don't even know what they are even made of anymore. And I guess a silver nickel is out of the equation as its silver. So if you use a USA nickel and the composition changes will that make the tones irrelevant? I suppose in canada I'd just not use a nickel per say but something that would typically signal in that range.
I hope that makes sense haha.
Perhaps there are some fellow Canadians on here who might know? Hi Gunnar.

Haven't played with the Golden and notches, but yes, Eldorado is 5pin umax style coils/connectors.
