Congrats Mark - I am working on silver coin #8, not 800! Amazing. What a spot and the machine sure doesn't hurt ;-)

Could you try to film the screen of the CTX since you are in a good coin spot? It would give us a better idea of things. Would love to see the actual dig on one as well. (I believe you, know the E-Trac is deep)
Look at my videos, I have a magic arm for 50 bucks and it mounts on any detector (use it on my E-Trac) and a camera/camcorder scews on top, doesn't damage the machine (has rubber in the jaws) and you can angle it for no glare and such.

Curious - Regarding the buckles and coins sounding alike. Does the pinpoint not give you a pretty good idea of the size when they are just a few inches deep? (Clearly at depth things can change)

Thx,
Albert

Buckles are a bit of a mystery as the shape of them not being solid so often makes them sound like a big silver (half crown), young head penny (34mm and thick) and cartwheel pennies + Tokens (bigger and thicker still 36 mm) some of the buckles are around that size. The E-TRAC is a deep seeker as well but does seem to miss a few according to the CTX 3030. Everyone has off days and can miss some but in the area I was doing it has been hammered so definitely machine capabilities.

What is the best camcorder in your opinion. I just use my Iphone and must admit it is only laziness on behalf time to bite the bullet.

I didn't realized you had bigger silver, that explains it.

Well, it depends on how much you want to spend. But have a look at my videos, most of them are not HD due to my upload speed but the quality is still quite good and the macro is usually right on. I use the Kodak playsport ZX5. It has the auto macro feature which is A MUST for filming the screen from closer. It goes for around 150 bucks. It isn't great for higher speed motion but for detecting it is great. Also, since the CTX is waterproof and the playsport is waterproof you can get some underwater shots! That would be great. I think Gonehunting might have a ZX5 also. You can spend 250 and get a much better camcorder that you can use for more things (like indoors - the playsport needs natural light to be it's best.)

Good luck,
Albert

I am with Earthman on this one. I think people really want to see the screen and sounds not just the target that someone dug up. Kind of like what he does....LOl.

Yes that would be awesome but Marksman7 thanks for the videos. Just know what you are finding at hunted out sites and seeing some depth; for the naysayers who say not so much of an improvement here ya go! I can not wait to take my ctx out mount up my go pro on land and in water and post, post, post my bounty!
