I know a park close by that will have some nice dry spots. Will be nice to get some field time in and test my hypothesis of targets shifting in frozen ground. My battery pack is charged and my bag loaded with my digger, trash bag,and headphones. LOL tomorrow should be a good day to kick off my season.HH Ron

Sound like you are ready to tear it up. Good luck Ron, hope you find some keepers. I didn't forget about the meter I want to get. Just trying to fit it in my budget. GS

Curious, what is the box between your meter and the GT?

Sunray Probe?

And Good Luck on your outing Ron, Be safe...

Ron the Sovereign still works real good. I went out to a city park on Monday. Didnt find much but I have not been dirt fishing since last fall. This winter I have concentrated on the beach. By Tuesday morning I was Very Sore. By Thursday I was beginning to feel human again. Talk about out of shape for dirt fishing. They are putting 3 to 6 feet of fresh sand on my favorite beach so all the goodies that I have missed will be hidden for a few years.

Boothbay,Old Beach Nut is correct, which the black box is part of the S-1 Probe.Only got out for a short time, used the small 800 by mistake my SEF coil wasn't in my bag when I went to make a coil change at the park, but still found two deep green pennies one a wheat and the other in the sixties.GS I think we'll have good find's this year. I'm going to use the 10x12 SEF coil a lot.Used one of those new Minelab bags 12x7 from Docs, nice comfortable wide belt with a snap buckle.I 'm going out tomorrow for another search even though most of the area is still wet,LOL could feel a cool breeze blowing off the frozen Fish Lake

Got out a couple of times so far found some wheats and an old brass belt buckle.Snowed again here hopefully no more snow here after Easter.HH Ron

Hi Ron,

Looking forward to seeing your future finds and experiences with the Sovereign in the coming months ahead, Your setup is real nice and amazing the Sovereign is still a joy to use she's a keeper for sure

Paul (Ca)

Paul, the Sovereign is very effective for finding coins and jewelry, which not many detectors can match its overall performance.HH Ron

Ron, I couldn't help but notice how tight the wire is coming off your coil. Aren't you concerned of any damage if the coil folds either way ?

Neil, you are correct, good observation, the coil was put on quick for the photo,I give a lot more slack in the field and even stored.
