I started off at a large old park that borders the Ct river a lot of clad it’s an old ball field so I decided to hunt the tree line
And hit a smooth old coin which looks to be the size of a half cent or 2 cent piece..
Then I hit a 43 merc not to bad and a ring.
So I left there headed down river to a school yard near where I just had a capped bust half dime and detecting there for about a half hour
I had a good 30 hit I figured a clad quarter so I dug couple inches down and to my surprise a large cent! 1819 in great shape to which also
Had a dime right next to the large cent I hit a old button to then the rain started so I left .
It was my really good first hard hunt with my nox I’ve nailed silver with it already so not a bad couple hours..

fantastic hunt with a nice largie!

Great hunt Mark :beers:! Fill us in with the details of your settings, they apparently work well!!

Thanks guys I’m still just beginning to use this machine lol I started in field 2 but settled on park 2 it’s a little more open less discrimination it seems
Running it stock setting in park 2 the large cent was in one of the school yards where my friend Greg found the class ring lost 44 years ago !
He just returned it last week so this area has some old stuff lots of deep cut nails which the Nox loves!
I go pretty slow when I detect keeping my coil close to the ground and dig a lot of signals!
These school yards were mostly old farm fields were they hit before? I think so but nothing is ever “hunted out” lol my motto.
Here’s a better closeup of the large cent..

Great finds I'm glad you found some silver. I found my first large cent with it as well yesterday so it definitely likes the big copper which is really nice because I have access to a lot of fields in Connecticut where people have found old coppers and I'm sure there's still a few left.
