Couple finds from today...nice token

I got out with my dad for a few hours today which was great because it's been along time since we hunted together. I got what looks like a real cool token (next to this 1700's Colonial coat button w. starburst in center). All's I can read right now is "1812 Amnesty" under the eagle. The other side has the bust of a man & it has a hole in it like it was worn. I'm going to try to clean it some more with a wooden toothpick, but was just curious if anyone has seen this one before. Thought it was a Civil War token maybe? But the 1812 date is strange. I have looked through 2 token books & posted it on a relic site but so far nobody knows. Maybe that means it's rare, or could be a foreign token like French perhaps?
Thanks,
Bill

Interesting find Bill. I went to my token/coin books and could not find an amnesty token. Please post back when you do ID the token. You could try Mark @ Western & Eastern Treasures. Good luck...

Jim.
