Couldn't resist a classic-Troy X2 w/ 10" coil

This is the last detector I'm going to buy...

Really!!

No-seriously!

But I can see how one can "acquire" a closet full of these things. I am a airgun hobbyist & that can be addicting. Have to have the latest/greatest. I finally reached saturation point & am very happy with my current collection. But onto detectors...

I like my Silver u-max. The style of hunting suits me well & I have made some good finds in heavily hunted parks. I was going to get a compadre mainly for the smaller coil & to have a grab & go for the trash areas.

Well I came across a well kept Troy x2- a Silver sabre(?) with a coin check button & a counterwound coil. Mine has the 10" & it seperates very well & is deeper than my 10 x 12 in bad soil-wich we have a lot of.

Soooooo.Like I said-No more detectors for me. These 2 will do nicely. I have a 5 .75 coil on the way-aparently by slowpo express. But after that comes it will be on my silver & th X2 as the main unit.

Also, my daughters are wearing them but I found 3 rings in the last month. All silver while I was in coin mode. But strangely they were all small girl sizes. And I have 2 small girls-Perfecto!.

Wow, we got the same hobbies . I use a sidewinder with a super 9" troy coil.My favorite AG is the Jack Haley .22 and a Webley raider .22.I though i was the only one out there.:super:

I had to look at my coil-It is the same as you have, the 9"...Awsome seperation. My machine is tuned for that coil-I tried a lot of switching around for the heck of it but the Troy w/ troy coil was the best combo by a wide margin. The iron rejection does seem better than my Silver -IMHO.And that coin button only lied once- on an aluminum screw cap.

I'm kinda suprised also to see a fellow pellet head. I assume you post on the Yellow. I'm DremelPilot over there BTW.

M-rod w/custom .20 Sheridan barrel-has shot a true MOA.

Aformentioned QB based custom

Pheonix Cometa 400

Nice old Crosman 1760 w/ custom internals

etc....

But those are my keepers

Cheers!

The Troy X2 is Troy's adaption of the Silver Sabre

Oh yea i go by the same name on the yellow, been lurking over there for over 10 years now.If the rain holds out i hope to get a few hours in today. If i find something nice I'll post it.HH

the x2 is a great detector! hang on to it as they are harder to find now.... if you can find the super 7" coil .... you'll find that using the troy coils on your umax Tesoro machines are good combos too!

I sold my X2 a year ago and still kicking my self. Best detector i've owned, IMO. I wish I could find a Super 7" for my Sidewinder. Your going to love it. Enjoy.

One is junk but the other is already on my wifes pinky. The girls have enough already...

I should gather them all for a photo...I'll get to it later.

I can't imagine a better detector for my needs. I have a torn up tendon on my right arm so light weight is a must & swingin is good therapy. I can't tolerate a slow machine & untill they have a dead nuts accurate ID machine-I'd rather do the guessin on targets. The Tesoro rocks in that regard but I'm preachin to the choir I'd bet.

Another solid silver day-lots of junk in the park. I will get around to thumbing around the targets later.

Also-The guy I ordered my coil from was waaay slow on the order & it is getting annoying waiting for the coil. He also overcharged me. The serice was so poor I complained & I guess he wanted his pound of whatever. All I can say is bad move as my revenge is never spending a penny with him again. If I ran my pellet gun repairs like that I'd be sooo out of bussines.
