Couldn't Have Done It Without My Lesche

That ground is so hard that I can't even pinpoint the coins in the ground. So, I just pinpointed them as best as I could with the ACE 250 large coil and cut a square 2"x2" plug with the Lesche digger with both arms and popped the plug. The coin was in the plug most of the time. They are calling for snow overnight, but the weatherman has been wrong before.

1 1/2 hours got me 51 coins today. :)

Now that's perserverence!! Looks like the old Lesche could use a little file work to get 'er back sharp again. Good going John!!

Hi John, Was hoping you could elaborate a little on the Lesche for me. I read good things about them, but have never used one. I use a Wilcox Pro 250 that I really like. Withe the long handle, I can pretty much lean on it and cut good clean plugs. Will the Lesche make digging plugs easier? Are they the tops for cutting plugs? Easy to use? Cadillac of digging tools? Any faults? Thanks, Eric

I especially like them for hunting in the woods, with or without roots around. Also, they work well in hard ground. The metal is very strong and good for prying. But I don't like them in groomed lawns as the somewhat pointed tip doesn't always flip the coin out of the hole when digging deep plugs where the coin is 6-7 inches in the ground. I prefer the more standard type digger there.
