Have been doing alittle detecting in an area that has drew some attention from another detectorist...It was great finding someone to talk to about the hobby and looked forward seeing him in future trips to this area..He runs an e-trac with all the bells and whistles and was quite interesting to talk to..I returned to this place and I noticed he was popping holes (not covering)and leaving obvious tracks that he was there......I'm fairly new to the hobby but I know you respect the property you hunt..This is what makes a dectorist unwelcome at public places...Please lets all practice this manner and keep our hobbies alive....

Hi Cheryl,

You are so right that all detectorists should use proper manners and clean up after themselves. A detectorists leaving unsightly unfilled holes on public property is certainly bad behavior and embarrassing to all of us.

Sounds like you have the opportunity for a teaching moment the next time you run into them.

Best of luck

Cheryl,

Please tell him from other E-Trac users, not to mess up our detecting sites...they're dwindling little by little the way it is. Thanks for bringing this into the light.
