I am amazed at what I find that I didn't find using the Whites Coinmaster, the Garrett American S-2 (or was it the S-3) and the Garrett GTA1000. Today I used the Garrett GTA 1250 with that 7x10 coil on it and I hit the front yard, along the curb and the driveway - still have the back yard to do.
Found tools (blade from a carpet or linoleum knife, screw driver - Craftsman, a phillips screw driver bit, a tool with screw threads on the one end and the other end fit into the handle (one of those interchangeable handle/screw driver outfits), half of some kind of 'tag' - round with a hole in it - the half has half the hole so it is split up and down - didn't see any writing on it yet, found a few pennies that the other detectors. Did score a 1957 Wheat penny at 2 inches. Gave it to Sherry for 2 reasons (1) 1957 is her birth year and (2) because we are moving this is a reminder of the house she bought, loved and moved from.
Why I didn't find all these other things with the other detectors I don't know.
Just pays to go over your own lawn more than once, twice or even 3 times - especially if you have no where else ya can get to but still want to detect.
We had gone to Gladwin, Beaverton, Prudenville and Roscommon area Saturday. Did swing the stick at an elementary school and found it had been pretty well done by someone or others before me but I still brought home maybe 40+ cents and a small charm that looks like a CD or LP record with the hole in the center and a musical note attached to the round thing.
Hope everyone else has been getting out and having some fun.
