Could use some help in Iowa...

Does anyone with a CTX 3030 live near Grinnell, Iowa? I'm hoping someone in the area could give me some pointers. I've have mine for nearly a week now, and am having the devil of a time of getting a solid signal. Thanks!

Steve I'm in Waterloo so am not to far from ya.Is the ground thawed out there yet? It sure isn't here. Have you tried putting a coin down or done an air test.(prob.a stupid question)? If you have and it works. But not out in the ground. Then I'm not sure.I had help from the dealer the I bought it from setting up the bins and tones. So I'm not overly versed in it but I know if its not set right it makes a big difference.Mine is setup to be very similar to the ex-cal.And it works great.I'm working double shifts this weekend so won't be available but maybe sometime next week i could slide down your way for an hour or two and compare detectors. Thanks! Not the GPS, just the target responses. It seems I'll see a 12/44 on the first sweep, a 01/39 on the second, and maybe a 09/42 on the third. Sometimes repeatable, sometimes not.

I'm using the stock coin program. Did the air tests, put a variety of clad and pre-'65 on the ground and signals are fine. I'm using the 6" coil.

It's more than likely operator error and inexperience - just need more time on my knees digging signals.

I did get out for a couple of hours today and found a grand total of 11 cents. Money on my first time out! WooHoo!

Grumpy, get that overtime! We'll get together sometime soon. Thank you very much for the offer!
