Could not believe my eyes................:cam:

I did not had a chance to metal detect all day...

Until I went by a friends house about an hour ago. He

has a house in a subdivision that's about 60 years old.

The area is much older that his subdivision.

I have hunted there three times before hoping for some

old coins or something. But all I found was clad and trash.

Today, when I got there, he was not home yet. I got out

my Compadre because his yard is full of pull tabs, bottle

caps, aluminum cans, hardware, plumbing, electrical and

auto parts. They are Arkie beer drinkers from way back.:beers:

Today I walked under a big magnolia tree and turned on

my MD. The first signal I got was the only target that I

dug today.

It was as high as a dime on the discriminator but it was

bigger. I was just hoping it was not a bottle cap. Didn't

sound like one.

I immediately hit a big root. It was off center of the root.

I dug on that side and there was another big root along

side the first one. I got a shovel and pried the two roots

apart and stuck an engineer's stake between them.

I started sticking my Fiskers in the crack and flipping dirt

out. Then much to my surprise this popped out unscratched.

Don't know how deep it was. The root was 3" down and about

4" in diameter. I had the Fiskers up to the hilt, flipping dirt out.

I could not believe my eyes.:yikes: I called my friend and told

him what I found. He said to meet him at White Water (beer hall)

in ten minutes. We celebrated. Me with a coke.:beers:

This is the 4th mini ball I've found in 9 months.

Compare that to 9 gold rings I have found in the same time and

you can see why I'm so excited:jump:

HH,

hi td, congrats on the minie ball you found. it's a nice one too. when i find them, i try not to think about what kind of damage a bullet that size and weight could do to somebody. i shudder to think about it. thanks, and hh,
