Hope I wasn't dreaming last night. I swear I heard on the radio that the U.S.A. was real close to getting rid of the paper Dollar.and going with the Dollar coins. Course they got to get by some lobbyists for the paper company's. Like our brothers up north this would open it up for some real fun. Tell me some of you guys heard it too.

It would be the sensible thing to do!! But who said any of our lawmakers are sensible??? They started minting the dollar coins but didn't do away with the bills. Till they do, most folks won't use the coins. Oh, I'm sure most everyone will whine, moan and complain for awhile if they do get rid of the $ bill, but eventually it will calm down. I wish they would do away with the rotten zinc penny at the same time, cost more to make than they are worth.

[size=large]i believe the over all objective is to attain paperless and a coin free system. debit cards only. the powers that be have been brainwashing us for decades about it. the change in our currency is to get us ready for the world currency we are headed for. remember,Bush's "The New World Order".

Paper for your printer may be cheaper but the new paper bills with included security features are not so cheap, especially when looking at the expected lifespan of paper dollars vs. coins.

Here in Australia our $1 note was replaced in 1984, and our $2 in 1988...our one and two cent coins were taken out of circulation in the 1990s. Principle being that coins will last longer than notes...although we no longer have paper money...our notes are now Polymer. Somes years ago a $5 coin was mentioned, but with the introduction of polymer notes, I think that idea has been shelved...dont really know if it was ever on the cards...

[size=large]according to the news last night our fed. res. has a warehouse full of dollar coins. they blame the american people for lack of use. said our dollars are totally replaced every 36 months. if they want coins only then all that needs to be done is quit replacing the paper and exchange using coins only. the people will complain but won't do anything to stop it. life will go on.
