Nayone out there find a eliptical coil that works for the Cortez??...I'm lovin mine, just wondering if an after market coil is available...Steve in Tenn.

P.S.....My latest find with my Cortez was a 1937 English 3 Pence....

Don't know of an elliptical for the Cortez, but you could call or email Tesoro and find out fairly quickly.

When I first purchased my Cortes I had the same question. A lot of internet searching has led me to believe the following:

There are no aftermarket coils made for the Cortes.

Tesoro does not make an elliptical coil for their umax line of detectors. All of the ellipitical coils are for for their "HOT" type of detectors.

I like my 3 x 18 cleansweep very much, if that helps you any...

Bought it from a Cortes user who did like it on that machine.

It will cover a lot of ground faster, and pinpoints very well.

Most my targets are to 5", though I've been told it's depth compares with stock concentric.
