Went back to the fair grounds today 07/27/2012. I am trying to cover a lot of this before the grass comes back. You can see where all the people walked because it completely killed the grass. Evidently the rides were put in the same places year to year because most of my coins are not fresh drops and buried, but it is evident that there are very defined paths and these are full of coins. Due to the 100 degree weather I am only able to hunt about an hour to an Hour and a half a day. todays finds 6 Quarters, 9 Dimes, 2 Nickels, 25 pennies, 3 Heavy Duty Rivets, 1 security Lock, 1 Washer, and 1 who knows.
The great news is that 1 of the Nickels is a 1942 War nickel. Two of the Quarters were 1965 so we are getting close to silver, even though I know for a fact the fair was not held at this location that long ago.
