Cortes ?

New member
I have a Cortes and took it out for the first time the other day. Seems to be a very noisy machine with so many targets that id as iron or foil.
Learning to only pay attention to the sounds that i would want to dig is a learning process. Does this machine excel in areas better than others?
Checking the posts i find very little info on this machine by users posted. Would there be a reason for that?
Thanks and HNY all.

Have you tested it in a controlled environment? (test garden)
Is the GB set carefully?
I would just dig all targets and compare to the ID. It shouldn't take too long before you become one with it. I don't have a Cortes, but if I did, that's how I'd learn it.

If you live in the western US, The Cortes isnt the machine for you. The highly mineralized soil will make the TID act crazy. Also in the DISC mode, it has a factory preset ground rejection. So if you are in a highly mineralized soil, then disc mode wont be stable either.
