well i have had the cortes for 8 days now and have figured out this thing is a coin monster! prob have about 60 coins in approx. 6 hrs. a couple tot lots a soccer field and of course the good ole backyard. i am new but did get a buffalo nickel and 2 wheaties in the backyard the house was built in 59 so the timeline fits, no old quarters but the copper pennies defintely hit 95 as well as dimes, quarters and no 50 cent pieces as of yet! a couple rosy dimes and the usual tabs hitting usually 39-42,,zinc pennies 72-78, nickels 33-36 just wondering users like jabbo and other cortes users what does you gold finds usually come in at? my daughters gold ring rings in at 6 kinda like foil ! just looking for pointers as "trust me i dont know it all! came to this forum and have ptractically read the whole forum and already miss tabdog ! dont know what went on there but seems evryone here misses him! he was always making folks say "wow"seems the cortes works well with a a 6in coil i guess its 6in thats what it measures across! 5.7 5 sounds better than 6 in ,ifound my share of tabs and caps. any advice would be appreciated and soon will try and figure out upload photos and should have 2 weeks in and a few more coins to display hopefully ring#1 ! thanks everyone and i miss tab and i just got here !!!!!

Ladies gold rings start to come in at the Foil bar and mens gold rings can go up to the Square Tab bar or Zinc Penny. All other medium rings could be anywhere between Foil and Square Tab. Lift the coil when you get a signal, small foil signal will vanish quickly. I carry a girls gold ring and a mans wedding band with me to test in the field so that I don't forget their signals.
