Cortes Wavy Threshold

Hey, just got my first Tesoro and its a cortes. Wondering about the threshold sound. Is it supposed to be so wavy and not steady. It is my first threshold machine too, but I always thought it would be smooth. Pretty sure it is ground balanced good, it stays the same moving up or down, it just oscillates constantly. Have read the Tejon is like this, anybody know if the Cortes is too?

n/t

The threshold on my Cortes is not smooth. Most all Tesoros I have used at my hunting spots have been like that. I would not worry about it.

Could there be some relationship between the Tejon's eratic and quirkey threshold and that of the Cortes? Just a thought. The Tejon is known for its high strung and eratic threshold which is has a great deal to do with it it's proven success. Don't know if that would be a plus or a minus for the Cortes, but it would be cool to know.

I rarely use it in all metal but i tried it some today and mine is wavy also. I agree, Don't worry about it.

Its good to know that all or most are like that any way. You still definitly know when something is there though. Found 105 coins the 2nd day out, will post some pics once the large cents are cleaned up. Thx for the replies

I have owned lo,t actually lot +, Tesoro detectors and most of them has had a "wavy" threshold, had a few with smooth threshold as well, the Eldorado (
