Just starting out with a cortes,Have a question for all of you cortes pro's.After ground balancing the unit,and switching to disc.mode.When runnign the machine it seems the display constantly stay's iron and/or foil.Is this normal?It does move to the approiate location when a good target is located.Just seems funny that it always stays in iron/foil,and have yet to see it say "discriminate" on the display when you turn it on,or when your hunting......Thanks in advance for you reply's..............kd
 
If you hold it in the air and wait several seconds it will clear to "Discriminate"

On the ground, the meter still displays rejected targets, so you can have iron disc'ed out, but it will still display a response if you pass over some. If you are hunting in town, there aren't going to be too many places where there are no targets. Just let the coil rest motionless and wait for the display to clear and it will display the disciminate message. It takes several seconds for the screen to clear.
