Always wanted to try a Cortes and now have one coming on thursday. I read good reviews and bad reviews about the Cortes, but for hunting coins in manicured lawns I think it will be a great detector. It may not be the deepest detector on the market but if it will hit coins from 6 to 8 or so inches
that is where most of my coins are found. I am happy to be getting another Tesoro and anxious to play in the dirt with it.....
You're going to really like the Cortes. Great for coins up to at least 7" and it found me a whole lot of gold jewelry. The SUM mode isn't needed until you have an iffy signal that you want to double check, then it's 9 tones are helpful. Use the Threshold along with the Notch to knock out more pulltabs, just lower the Threshold somewhat, its a second sensitivity control. The depth reading is always on, great to know how deep a target is. The meter shows target ID three ways. Has the General grouping, the 9 bars, and the 95 numbers. HH, Jabbo
jabbo, the gold jewelry is exactly why I wanted the Cortes and it is good to hear you founds lots of it with your Cortes. I don't need an extremely deep detector for most places I hunt and the Cortes sounds perfect for me......Thanks for the info on the Cortes.
GaryF, You can count on seeing my finds with the Cortes on here.......HH
