Cortes for VXi

Just traded a Cortes for a Whites VXi did I make the right choice? I am hunting old houses for coins mainly.

Did you get a V3i or a VX3? There is no VX1. In either case you made a good trade.

Hold on I traded in a Cortes to add to that. Not that great of deal. Really like the Dealer though. Just hope the V3i is that much better at ID than the Cortes

Wish you the best with your new V3i. The TID on my V3i seem to be as good as any on the market that i've tried. The best hunting to you.

If you traded a cortez for a V3i as your original post stated, you made out like a bandit. But if you traded something else along the cortez that might be a different story.

I added quite a bit of BOOT along with the Cortes for a New V3i

I could no longer see the screen on the Cortez it is just too small. Every place I hunt I must be very careful. I do not want to dig unless there is something worth digging in the ground.

Based on what you stated you hunt for (coins in old yards), the fact that you need to be sure, ID wise, the probability of the target prior to digging, and that you could not see the Cortez screen ( you will have NO problem with that V3i screen), you made a good choice to switch.

The information you get from the V3i in terms of target ID, and the super screen rendering ( which I believe you can also increase or decrease the size of the text/numbers on it), will help you immensely.

Only thing I suggest is getting the Whites V rated 5.3 concentric coil. Not sure what coil you got with the standard package, but the stock 10 inch DD will be too big in most cases for old yard coin hunting. The pin point is dead on with the 5.3 and you will still you good depth.

Thaks Guys from the feed back I am getting it looks like a good choice. I got it ordered through Back Woods detectors and I can not tell you how good a deal I got but that guy at Back Woods is great to work with.

The v3i has 3 freq to pick out coins which is better than a one freq detector in my opinion its a killer in trash for coins and jewelry. shortribs
