blast it all!
penny's aren't usually my better finds, but this one could have been an exception
90% of it is badly corroded all except for the VDB wich is in good shape
it was found in a very wet location,so it's to be expected,oh well at least i can date it to 1909
 
coinnut now that i think about it your right,it would be rather depressing seeing the vague remnants of an "S"of a key coin
in this condition,if it were there i'm happy to not see it!
 
Therein lies the trouble with dug coins. Aside from the most rare occurrences, they tend to look like that. Even the silvers can suffer from exposure.
