CORRECT WAY TO SET UP

JM

New member
hi do you find a clear patch of ground ,put in your settings then ground balance ,is there a right and wrong way to start up . I personally ground balance first ??????????

Maybe I'm wrong, & others feel free to jump in, but I was always told that after changing settings & such you should also re-balance. So, I always save the "fastGrab" balancing for AFTER I am satisfied with the sensitivity/ process mode, etc. You method may not be technically "wrong" per-say, but knowing ground balance is so crucial in detecting I prefer to use caution...

I, too, always g b after changing any setting and also "fast Grab" g b occasionally throughout a few hours of hunting, even on the same site. I had heard the same thing as Bill and it is also very important to find a good trash free spot for the initial g b. HH jim tn

I usually hunt similar sites, but the LAST thing I do at every site is GB. I Fast grab about every 50 feet in realtivly clear soil, but usually try to avoid it if I'm in a real trashy or challenging site, as trying to GB there may only screw it up. JM is right in a way though. If you dont have it GB'd right in the first place, there is no way to know if its a faulty GB setting screwing up the machine, or wrong settings. I sat do an initial GB right away, and then a final one after you change your settings for the site........................

Fast grab every 50 ft when your able.......if it isn't done properly the number ID will suffer for all modes. I hunt in "All Metal Motion".
It's quite busy in trash but I hear cluster junk that I can further
examine in detail.
