Corpus Christi beaches

I am going to be in Corpus Christi, TX for a national bowling tournament in April and was wondering what the rules were on detecting the beaches. I think I read somewhere that detecting was not allowed. Is this true?

Did not get any grief hunting city beaches and county park beaches. A good rule of thumb is if you see state or national in the title, stay away.

I work and detect in Corpus. All beaches are open except a small state park on Mustang island and the National seashore. That being said...you can detect from Port Aransas south for 22 miles, JP luby park/beach, Mcgee beach & North beach.
