COPPER WIRE

The other day I was showing the Explorer to a friend. He asked me if I could detect a power line he buried a couple years ago. It was 3 seperate copper multi strand, heavy OO gauge. It was only a foot deep and I could not pick it up with the Explorer. So he showed me a short length of it, and I could not detect it. I guess certain forms of metal are detector proof.

I pick up little tiny pieces of copper wire all the time. Actually it is annoying.

I used my XS in the back garden where there is a pair of coaxial cables buried about a foot down (my TV and phone line) and was able to trace the route of the cable with no problems - that was in the standard coin select disc pattern. The coaxial cables are copper sheathed.
