Copper Tag????

CODYB-156

New member
Hello folks. Dug this the other day on a vacant lot where a 1920's house once stood. I have no idea. Its 1 1/4 inches wide X 1 1/2 inches tall. Watch fob? Luggage tag? I don't know. There is nothing else written on the tag. It is made of copper. Please help.

Maybe a European or French Trunk ID tag with production number. It looks like it was secured with a leather strap due to the wide slot. The US generally stopped using that spelling of Armor after 1828 unless its a company name such as a hotel, bank or post office(Secured Lock box key ID). Assuming that its relatively modern, I would guess it was not made in the US because of the spelling. But just because the house was not very old doesn't mean they did not have old keepsakes making it possibly early American.
