......Are these common finds for u guys? I'm hoping you guys have more experience with this kind of stuff. These finds were 9 to 6 inches deep on river banks. The spearhead type points were found 3 miles apart on a river bank in Wisconsin. The awl type point was found in upper Wis.
The Copper Culture website was very helpful but didn't explain how to determine if it is from native Americans or not, or how to date the copper finds. Maybe there isn't an easy way to date them. I'm hoping to find out if my finds are (200, 1000 or 8000 years old??? I went to the local library and they had nothing to help me with identification.

Thanks, BK

One day up at Outdoor Outfitters I was picking up a 3D from Wayne Otto, I was talking with Mike Scott and a person came in with something like what you have. I cant remember what Mike told me what they are. He told me if I find anything like this keep it,as they are very old. You might what to call Outdoor Outfitters and ask for Mike, there are two Mikes there either one can help you. Cool finds.
Thank You

you did very very well.
you have a rattail spear, a socketed spear and a awl.
the age is between 5000 and 15000 years old, maybe older. That is about the time the old copper culture mined the copper in the U.P.
soak them in olive oil for about 4 weeks. they will clean up nice.
they sell for over $200. great finds.

Yeah I was going to guess 5000 years plus but couldn't remember the dates of the Copper Age. Would like to see them after they are cleaned up.

A great find like that gives me some hope to find something that old.
Excellent find BK. Dave
