copper pipe with enameled deco's

Anyone have a clue what this may have been a part of? The 'pipe' portion appears to be copper and it has two blue enameled stars on either side of a crescent moon with a star inside. The pipe portion is approx. 3/4" diameter with a length of about 3 1/2". Thanks!

My first thought was possibly a decorated cigar tube...? Honestly though I have no idea...

i have no idea, but honestly looking at it , I think it is something important. In the larger pic, that curved distortion on the right side is that anything? CO

Not really, it appears to have been a straight cylinder (pipe) before a lawn mower or something got it. It was only about 3" deep. I just went out into the garage and looked at it again.....it was certainly a round, straight cylinder before the trauma and it may not be copper, but, it is very thin walled. Because of the wall being so thin, I would deduce it was mostly ornamental and not structural. Also, the decorations are straight inline and only on that side.

I dont have time to find the exact one but it is a bic lighter holder, was probably silver or nickle plated copper.
You can see the stepped edge at the top.
similar to this one.

Nice guess Taz...looks like you nailed it.

Taz, I believe you solved it. I took another look at it (I didn't recognize the uniform cutout on one end before) and the notch you point out is definitely there. I'm going with the lighter cover. Great sleuthing, thanks!!!
